Scripts from other sourcesScripts are available from Deborah Cook's Cutting Edge Design website. There are two collections -- for Photo-Paint 8 or 9 -- make sure you download the correct set. The price is $64.95 for version 9 scripts. Deborah, by the way, is a regular contributor to the Corel design tips on the web.Shown below is the entry screen for this collection of scripts. They are accessed like all scripts by choosing Tools - Corel SCRIPT - Run Script. The installation program has included them in the Scripts folder. Because this is not a plug-in program, but a set of scripts, the settings which you change are not retained-- when you restart the script, all settings are at the original levels. And the preview window only gives a standard preview with the original presets. These are the only two complaints I can make about this outstanding collection of scripts.
An exampleHere is an example what these scripts can do. I applied the aluminum script to some text, with the variant gold, and then -- this is most important -- changed the refraction setting to 100 (note that 40 is the default). This resulted in an amazing gold text as shown below. Even though the screen said that it is best to apply this effect to one or two letters at a time, I found this unnecesary.
