Forty-Five Minutes from Hollywood
This is the first film in which both Stan and Ollie appeared. Not a particularly good effort,
with lots of chaotic goings on.

Duck Soup (photo)
Wanting to escape from a forest fire, vagrants Stan and Ollie hide in a mansion. When
visitors show up, Stan poses as the owner, and Stan as the maid.
Slipping Wives (photo)
Stan is hired by a woman to make her husband jealous -- he has been ignoring her. This film gives the first
hint of the Laurel and Hardy characters being developed.
Love 'Em and Weep
James Finlayson who is being blackmailed by Mae Bush, asks his friend Stan to keep her
away from him. Ollie is one of the dinner guests.
Why Girls Love Sailors
Stan sets out to rescue his girlfriend form the hands of a brutal captain.
Ollie plays a ship's mate. Ollie's "tie twiddle" first appeared in this film.
With Love and Hisses (photo)
Features Finlayson as an army captain, Stan and Ollie as army recruits engaged in
conflict with him.
Sailors Beware (photo)
Cabdriver Stan takes a lady and her infant (actually a midget) to a ship
and ends up sailing with them. The woman and her accomplice are intent on stealing
possessions from passengers. Ollie is a Purser on board.
Do Detectives Think?
Stan and Ollie are bodyguards sent to protect judge Finlayson.
An escaped murderer is out to kill the judge and impersonates the butler.
Flying Elephants
Stan and Ollie in the Stone Age. There are some amusing moments in this film, but it is not
a particularly well-constructed effort.
Sugar Daddies (photo)
Business man Finlayson is informed by his butler, Ollie, that he has married
the night before. Lawyer Stan comes to the rescue, but the situation is never
sorted out. Great chase scenes in an amusement park follow.
Call of the Cuckoo (photo)
The new house of Max Davidson has many failing appliances, leaking baths and so on.
To make matter worse, there is an lunatic asylum next doors with inmmates Laurel and Hardy,
James Finlayson and Charlie Chase.
The Second Hundred Years
Escaped convicts Stan and Ollie end up visiting their own prison,
because people assume they are dignitaries. This is the first film
billed as a "Laurel and Hardy" effort.
Hats Off (photo)
Stan and Ollie are delivering a weashing machine to a house at the top of a flight of
stone steps. This is the same location which was later used for the Music Box. UNfortunately,
there are no remaining copies of this film.
Putting Pants on Phillip
Stan visits his uncle Ollie. As a Scottish national, Stan wears a kilt, and uncle
tries to fit him with trousers. Stan has a quick eye for the leadies and frequently
dashes off in pursuit.
The Battle of the Century
An accident with a banana skin results in a pie delivery van crashing
and spilling all its contents. Before long, Laurel and Hardy have engaged the driver in a fight, which gradually
includes every passer by.
