is a Seattle-based vocal ensemble specializing in the performance of American choral music. The group primarily focuses on performing contemporary works by living composers, including local Pacific Northwest composers. Radiance also performs music from the shapenote and Shaker traditions to celebrate and connect the roots of American choral music to contemporary works.
Radiance also explores the bounds of artistic expression and media by incorporating dance, audio, and video into programming. Recently, Radiance presented a multimedia program Time and Space for Octave 9 at Benaroya Hall.
Radiance has produced a number of videos, including Shaker Spirituals in Maine (2021) featuring composer Kevin Siegfried for the Library of Congress American Folklife Center, and virtual choir and the swallow by Caroline Shaw, which was featured on Canada's choral broadcast of Modern Choral Masterworks on CBC.
